Manchester United Pre-Season Plans

WHAT'S GOING ON AT UNITED THIS SUMMER?

The 2014/15 campaign may have only just ended but already a busy summer lies ahead with potential signings, a pre-season tour and, yes, the start of 2015/16 all on the horizon. Here’s our guide to the key summer dates for your diary…
First of all, when can United make new signings?
The domestic transfer window is already open, while all deals will have to be completed when the international transfer window closes on 1 September.
When will the 2015/16 Barclays Premier League fixtures be released?
The fixtures are announced on 17 June. Be first to get the full list of league fixtures via ManUtd.com, @ManUtd on Twitter, or you can sync all the matches with your personal calendar on your computer or smartphone via our Fixtures Calendar app (calendar.manutd.com ).
When will the players return for pre-season training?
Louis van Gaal and his coaching staff will return to the Aon Training Complex in the first week of July as pre-season preparations begin; then the players will begin to come in too. That's when the hard work starts.
On what date will the squad depart for the US on tour?
The full tour party will leave Manchester on 13 July, heading to Seattle, where the Reds will be based for the opening match against Club America on 17 July. Then the players head to San Francisco Bay to face San Jose Earthquakes (21 July, Berkeley) and Barcelona (25 July, Santa Clara). The last game of Tour 2015, presented by Aon, is on 29 July against
Paris Saint-Germain , in Chicago.
And finally, when does the real action start?
United have some exciting pre-season games, of course, but the first competitive match of the new campaign will be on the opening weekend of the Barclays Premier League season (8-10 August). Then the Reds will have a Champions League play-off tie on 18/19 August (second leg 25/26 August), vying with one of 10 teams for a place in the group stage draw on 27 August.
